Seeking PR, Graphics, Web Design & Marketing Interns!

Shobha is seeking creative, hard working interns who are serious about gaining real world experience within the beauty industry. Interns will assist in our very busy office in the flatiron district. these will range from administrative, design, research and pr-related duties depending on intern focus and team needs.

We are currently seeking interns with the following majors/concentrations:
• web and/or graphic design
• public relations/communications
• marketing research/analysis

General requirements:
• reliable and punctual – being on time is critical!
• flexible – must be willing to move from one project to another.
• diligent and committed – must be prepared to work 8-16 hours per week, for a minimum of 1 semester.
• organized and able to work independently – must be able to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
• computer savvy – internet, social media, Microsoft office programs (most importantly, excel), computer art/design programs (if applying for a design internship), etc.

PR/marketing intern requirements:
• knowledge of and experience using various social media platforms.
• completion of at least introductory college course(s) in pr/communication.
• excellent writing skills, including grammar, creativity and editing.
• experience and savviness in researching – both using the internet as well as real world investigating.
• knowledge of the city and getting around via public transportation.

Web design intern requirements:
• knowledge of all adobe creative suite programs (Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash).
• knowledge of html coding.
• must present a portfolio of recent for final interview.
• experience in video editing and digital photography are a plus.
• use of own laptop for design projects a plus.

Print graphics/merchandising intern requirements:
• knowledge of all adobe creative suite programs (Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash).
• craftiness and ability to think out the box to get things done – (e.g., be able to use an exacto knife, glue gun to create displays, etc.).
• experience in retail merchandising.
• ability to source supplies and vendors for various projects.
• must present a portfolio of recent for final interview.
• use of own laptop for design projects a plus.

Daily stipend provided, plus transportation if required for a project. May be applied for college credit where applicable.
