Our Brow Pencil In Coco Eco Magazine

We’re obsessing over all things fresh faced for spring/summer makeup. The excitement of our team reached new heights this week when we received a special email from Kristen Arnett, professional makeup artist & Sustainable beauty educator.

Kristen’s email was full of the exciting news about how she  served as the beauty director for the may issue of Coco Eco Magazine (on stands now nationwide at Whole Foods & Barnes & Noble). [insert applause for Ms. Arnett here please!]

In the May issue, she selected the very best eco makeup & hair care for her beauty story, “Swept Away.”  This feature highlights trends for this spring & summer included sunset hues that contrast with berry stains & minimalistic white that can take you wherever you want to go. The makeup is polished with soft lines & blurred edges. Hair doesn’t need to be perfect. It moves as the wind blows; perfect for a breezy, seaside get-together or an elegant summer soiree. Pin it up or let it down. This season there are no rules, it’s all up to you.

Using one model, Kristen “transformed her in a myriad of ways, to highlight the major (wearable) beauty trends of spring/summer 2015”.

Kristen did both makeup & hair to ensure she “could authentically say everything that was used was eco” (read: no vanity credits)! Her “killer photo team even included an ethical wardrobe stylist” – how cool is that?!

Kristen  told us, “ I also picked a slightly older than average model on purpose & there was almost no retouching done. I believe that people should see what skin & hair really looks like — yes, it’s all still on a gorgeous, youthful woman — but these are not totally remanufactured images.”

Even better our Shobha Brow Pencil (in sand) made the short list that Kristen used to pull of her “completely 100% eco beauty miracle… especially for what [she considers] to be incredibly high standards of sustainable beauty from styling to post production.”

Thanks for all the love Kristen! We’re so flattered & honored that you love our Shobha Brow Pencil as much as we do! This was definitely a bright spot in our week, Kristen – thank you!

PS: be sure to follow Kristen Arnett on all her fabulous adventures & missions. If you love cats, you’re going to love Kristen’s Kitty, Ginger most frequently seen on her IG feed.
