This summer, try an easy, inexpensive, natural home remedy to treat your beauty woes.  Here are some “recipes” to get you started:

Damaged hair treatment

  • 1 egg yolk
  • ½ of a cup avocado oil
  • 2 teaspoons of coconut milk
  • Mix together & massage into your hair. Rinse afterwards.

*Avocados & coconuts are full of anti-oxidants that shield your hair. Their oils help penetrate the hair shaft and seal the cuticle.

Chapped lips exfoliant

  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • few drops of olive oil
  •  dash of rosewater

Mix together & rub against lips for a couple of minutes. Rinse off & apply lip balm.

*Olive oil serves as a moisturizer and sugar exfoliates to make your lips smooth.

Soothing face mask

  • ¼ cup yogurt
  • ½ cup uncooked oatmeal
  • 2 tablespoons of honey

Blend oats in a food processor to make them smaller. In a bowl, mix all ingredients. apply on your face & let mask dry for 20 minutes. Wash off & moisturize.

*Yogurt contains lactic acid which acts as an exfoliant. oatmeal contains saponins that clean your pores & honey helps relieve redness & irritation.
