I turned 48 this week! I was 28 years old when I started this company. So many of you have joined me on this journey over the last 20 years and I am so grateful for all of you. Hair removal was what I struggled with in my teens and twenties and it got in the way of my confidence. Something I struggled with for so many years was the inspiration that I needed to start Shobha. I understood that Shobha had to be more than a place that focused on the service of hair removal. It had to be about helping people find their best selves and remove barriers that got in the way of their confidence. I wanted a place that would educate and give choices for people to make those informed decisions themselves. We are so happy that over the years we have raised the level of service for hair removal not just in our company, but in general in the marketplace.
As I am entering the next chapter in my life, I find myself looking in the mirror and seeing things that are getting in the way of my confidence, again. As I look to the market place to find services that can help, I am finding that same void in the market that I found before, but this time in a different way. The information out there is overwhelming and we as clients are left on our own to navigate it all.
As a result, over the last year I have been working on informing myself by attending conferences, speaking with plastic surgeons and going to classes to learn more about anti-aging techniques. What I learned is that there is a lot of work to be done in the market place about educating folks about the plethora of options that exist. Everything from simple injectables to more complicated procedures like thread lifts and microneedling with PRP. A procedure that might be right for me in my 40s might not be right one for someone else in their 40s. It is overwhelming!
When we surveyed a few of you last year asking what services you would like us to add, so many of you are feeling the way I feel. I was startled at the overwhelming response we received asking for services that I describe above because you are struggling with the information overload also. I am on a mission to figure out how to simplify this process and give the power back to clients with information so it is understandable so we can make informed decisions ourselves.
To help us in this mission, we have teamed up with two brilliant plastic surgeons to help us in this cause, Dr. Ravi Dahiya and Dr. Paul Ruff. They will be on site at our Rockville and DC locations to provide Botox and Filler services and consultations.

Rockville Pike Location
Dr. Ravi Dahiya graduated from Harvard College with honors. His success in medical school at the University of Massachusetts led to induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. A strong interest in facial anatomy led to a 5-year residency in General Surgery and Otolaryngology at Albany Medical Center Hospital from 1998-2003. Dr. Dahiya completed a fellowship at the University of Toronto with Dr. Peter Adamson, one of the world’s preeminent facial plastic surgeons.
Dr. Ravi Dahiya will be available at our Rockville location on August 8th to provide Filler services along with consultations.

Dr. Paul Ruff is a double board certified plastic surgeon with over twenty years of experience. His artistic approach to facial injectables has been cultivated through an extensive accumulated experience with a breadth of fillers and neuromodulators. He has written book chapters and is a highly sought after trainer regionally, nationally and internationally.
Dr. Paul Ruff will be available at our Washington DC location to provide both Botox and Filler services along with consultations on July 28 and July 30th.

Leslie Levin, Nurse Practitioner
Leslie joined the Shobha team in 2018 as the in-house Nurse Practitioner in the DMV area. She provides med spa services including laser hair removal, botox and hydrafacials and serves as a part of the client experience team. Prior to joining Shobha, Leslie practiced as a registered nurse for several years on the Rapid Response Team and as a Cardiac Catheterization Nurse at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
