Get Your Asana To This Benefit Challenge (Shobha Goodies Included!)

Topics: Charity, Posts

[Asana really means the kind of yoga you practice on a mat, but we thought it was a pun-ny way for saying your hiney]

Did you know?  Since the birth of Shobha (the salon) back in 2001, we have had a vested interest in furthering the lives of South Asian women, not only with our own staff, but with the community as a whole. Over the past nine years (we know, we can’t believe it’s been that long either!) this ability to help others has become a driving force in our future plans as a company.  Each year we work with a variety of organizations & non-profits in the hope of making a huge difference in the lives of poverty-stricken youth, giving them a childhood & building a brighter future through education.

On Thursday, June 17th, skip the sangria & join us for for some hangover-free happy hours at the mandala in action event, a fundraiser for the art in all (aia) of us.

Aia is an org that encourages kids to teach other kids about tolerance & awareness of different cultures using their own creative juices to make artwork.

The night will be held in typical boomerang yoga (the non-prof team hosting) fashion with some yoga-inspired activities.  The night will kickoff with a sacred strength yoga flow class with Stephanie Culen (read:  kick your butt yoga with soul) & a gong meditation by Hari Kaur, plus special performances & tasty treats. You’ll not only score some good karma for attending, but also a goodie bag, Shobha stuff included.  Word on the street also has it that there are some pretty fantastic raffle prizes up for grabs (not to name drop – but there’s a 6-month membership to Yogaworks, a pair of Nikes & even a golden ticket to Betty sSurfcamp in Ecuador).

A donation of $108 (you can self fund or get your friends to help) will not only get you in the door of the swank William Bennett Gallery, but it’ll also reserve you a spot for yoga, mediation & of course a super special one in the hearts of all of the aia kiddies.
