A while back we posted about the non-profit community center that provides vocational rehabilitation to individuals with disabilities that helps us package our Shobha Exfoliating Cloths (more on that here). So it felt serendipitous when we got wind that one of our favorite young minds, Tiffany Yu, started to spearhead a fantastic passion project called Diversability. It’s a disability awareness organization dedicated to raising disability awareness & reshaping conceptions of ability. Diversability is an organization that really hits home with us & we support it’s awesome efforts.
Tiffany & her team plan events & other programming that get more people talking & thinking about disability as a core part of the diversity conversation.
If you want to get involved in this movement (& you totally should), Diversability is hosting an NYC launch event on April 16 from 7-9pm (est) at Joynture on Wall Street . The event will include a discussion led by Usbln’s Liz Taub, a silent auction, & light refreshments. Proceeds from the event will benefit the disability equality index.
